Porta's oil firing: 1816, etc
having read through Porta's paper as posted in the Drawings section, he mnakes reference to a comparison between the Swiss application to the new build rack locomotives and a retrofit he did to #1816 (he liked his better.) Do we have any documents available to demonstrate just what he did to 1816?
He also is fond of the multiple burner arrangement for better mixing and combustion.
Mention is also made of the french RS burner, canaris theiry, and Pillard, Darrig and Equateur schemes......
What do we know about these subjects he mentions in passing?
Dave
